Before You
Just wrote lyrics into an iPhone. First time for anything other than paper for me.
Here they are:
It’s come to the point where we can no longer paper over it.
Everyone stop and see: spilling out the molten core of it.
Changes always come when you can no longer stand yourself.
Strangely I’m now at ease. Lost in the stormy cathartic.
Might have been a sailor, lost across the sea
Might have been a painter and put down what I see
I tried to be a good man as I have understood
As I stand before you, I’ve done all that I could
And now the chips are down, piling up like a stack of metaphors.
Might as well laugh or cry, there’s no satisfaction from the whores.
That’s not what I meant to say, that’s just what I’ve buried for so long.
It’s just that you’re killing me. It’s not that you’re right or wrong.
